Back from holiday!

Sorry for the lack of posts here the paste couple of weeks. This weekend I got back from a lovely two week break. Whenever I have holidays planned I obviously look forward to them but I really do miss being at my easel. I do still take my laptop so I can keep up with as much admin as I can but the internet was a little hit and miss at times. When we go on holiday our dogs are always with us. ...

NEW PET JOINING THE FAMILY

I have been waiting for a Leopard Gecko to join our family since March/April. The come in many colours and patterns but there was a specific type I wanted to wait for and I am so excited to have found one. He/she wont be ready for a few weeks but look at those patterns and colours! Stunning. I cannot wait to watch her/him grow and then photograph ready to draw and paint her.

My Lexie <3

Lexie is my 5 year old Sprocker. Madness of both breeds - you ask why haha. But she truly is a special dog. Very laid back considering. Yet, despite being a mixture of two breeds that are known for their love of water - she isn't convinced! She will get her paws wet but will not go in any deeper than a few inches. She is certainly not a born swimmer with that love of water. She rarely sits still...

Maisey & Lexie Close Up

I have been prepping a couple of canvases ready for 2 Spaniel paintings I have coming up :). Getting the surface just the right texture for how I like to paint. I keep meaning to take a photo of my framed painting but trying to photograph something that has now been varnished is not easy! Yesterday, I ordered all new boom stands and arms that will enable me to use my DSLR to record my portrai...

Maisey & Lexie are finished!

Well, here it is! AT LAST! What a relief to be able to call this massive project finished. This painting is big... At the time I thought it was a good idea and then after a few days I realised this was going to take me ages. So many hours went into this painting - I lost count and realised its pretty much life size... Also, you would not believe how long it took for us to get this photo! People...

New additions to the family…

Yesterday, we welcomed two new lambs to our zoo! We already have 2 Suffolk ewe sheep but they are 8-9 years old which is getting on. These two new lambs are also a rare breed called Dorest Downs. They are 7 months old and super sweet. The breeder was kind enough to keep hold of them for a bit longer to halter train them. I cannot be anymore pleased with them. They are better than I could have...

Maisey & Lexie Update

First off... Ignore the background... If I got the colour of Maisey right the background went a bit erm.. vibrant! Not that it matters because I have the background left to do once both of them are finished. I don't actually do the backgrounds after but I was to impatient with this and wanted to get my dogs started! I have made it far harder for myself. This is a huge painting that I am ...

Maisey is 11 today!

🐾💕 Happy 11th Birthday Maisey 💕🐾 This is a day I didn't think we would be able to share with her. My best friend and the best 18th birthday present I could ever have hoped for. The day I picked her up when she was 8 weeks old she taught me from day one what love was. What it meant to be that person who has to make sure you give that furbaby the best possible life ...

Lexie is mounted :)

The portrait I did of my Sprocker Lexie has been double mounted and is ready to be framed. This is mounted to fit a 16" x 20" frame and by the time we get it on the wall will be a nice centre piece in the dining room. The acrylic painting I am working on of Lexie and Maisey is huge and that will need a lot of wall space. Being 21" x 29" it's big! I thoroughly enjoyed working on this backgr...
