Important Information

Caring for your portrait:

I offer a range of different mediums all of which are lightfast. Lightfast ratings on art materials is very important. All art materials are graded on a scale and anything considered lightfast is made to last. I use glassine sheets which is acid free under my hand when drawing to protect the portrait from smudging etc.

When you receive your portrait its important to hang it in the right place. As in most cases, heat and sunlight can have detrimental effects. Its vital that any artwork isn’t placed in direct sunlight or above a heat source such as a radiator or fireplace for obvious reasons. Taking these into account when you receive your portrait will ensure their archival properties are maintained.

Privacy policy:

I will never share personal information disclosed by my clients to any third parties.

Copyright:

I retain copyright on all the artwork that I produce.  Completed artwork will be displayed on my website and social media with the clients permission.

The responsibility for any reference photographs provided to me belongs to the client. If the photographs are taken by a third party (such as a professional photographer) must obtain their written permission before I can commence with your portrait. I ask for this written permission to then me forwarded to myself as proof and also to ensure I can credit the photographer where necessary.

Delivery information:

All of my portraits are sent out with Royal Mail using their special delivery service. This is a tracked and recorded service guaranteed before 1pm the following working day. I opt to package my portraits between 2 sheets of MDF. This ensures that they will be delivered in perfect condition. The portraits themselves are in an acid free cellophane sleeve with a sheet of glassine to add further protection. This MDF ‘sandwich’ is then placed in a waterproof, fully sealed bag.
