I have always blocked off the week before Christmas for a couple of reasons.
1st..
The first is that with all the increased post going out I try to get all of the portraits out the week before to make sure if there is any delay they will still get there in time. Although, this shouldn’t be the case as I send out all portraits tracked and recorded guaranteed next day service. This ensures that all portraits with the UK are delivered before 1pm the following day.
2nd..
I don’t allow time during the year for my wildlife work. This is something I hope to change next year, although I am already booked up until June 2020 so need to implement these changes soon if they are going to happen haha. So this week I block off before I spend creating wildlife pieces, using new materials I have been wanting to experiment with etc.

This Rhino drawing is another that I have got a little to attached to. There are portraits sometimes that I wish I could keep for myself. And this is one. I love drawing movement as I have mentioned on my other posts and graphite was my first medium I learnt to use. So this is one that stands out for me.

Collectors growing collection 🙂
It is nice knowing that this is going to one of my collectors. They have many of my portraits including various wildlife pieces and pet portraits. So knowing this is being added to their collection is lovely. Each piece if professionally framed by my local framer and they take pride of place in their home. This is what makes every hour I spend on these so worth it.

Drawing details
This is a A3 (11.7″ x 16.5″) graphite drawing. I commonly work on portraits of this size but this is a little more unique in that every part of the paper is covered. The background was done entirely in graphite powder. I absolutely adore the contrast in this piece. The reference photographer, Craig Maisfield, captured this perfectly. His work is incredible and it’s a pleasure to recreate artwork from such beautiful references.

YouTube video to come!
The full time lapse video of this will be ready soon. As soon as its edited I’ll upload it to my YouTube channel.
