Long drive but worth every mile..
Scotland has always been a special place to me. It’s where me and my husband had our first holiday together almost 3 years ago. Since then, we visit twice a year and absolutely love it. We take all three of our dogs so we always drive which is a 580 mile trip – a long drive but well worth it. We prefer to do the drive overnight, stop once to refuel about 6 hours into the journey where we let the dogs out to stretch their legs and then continue the next half of the trip. On a good drive where traffic is kind to us it takes approximately 10 hours but the longest its every taken us is a gruelling 12.5 hours!
Back to normality and returning a Mrs
We always knew we wanted to get married in Scotland. We got married on the 7th and then had a wonderful two week honeymoon where we visited different parts of the beautiful Scottish coastline. We had a trip to the Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Ness, Loch Garten RSPB Reserve, Spey Bay Dolphin Centre and many more! Below are a few photographs from our trip :).

A stunning waterfall we happened to stumble upon on the way to a trip to Loch Ness.

I have always enjoyed taking photographs and playing with my DSLR camera. But one thing I have learnt from this trip is just how much I love taking photos and creating my own layouts for my wildlife portraits. Its such a good feeling knowing that the piece of artwork you’ve created is yours from every aspect. Going out and photographing your subject, the scenery which may be used for backgrounds etc, then editing them together into one mock up layout was very rewarding. So on my wish list are some different lenses for my camera. I realised during this trip how my current set up limits me in many ways but to this point has served me well. So camera lens shopping may be required haha!
That’s it for my Scotland spam posts! I couldn’t resist and wanted to share what a beautiful place it is.
