Lilly is the first of 6 A3 colour pencils drawings I currently have on my easel. An A3 size is such a nice size for a single subject. There is so much space to fit tons of detail in. I do have an excellent reference photo to work from which makes such a difference.
Sadly, Lilly didn’t have the best start in life. She had obviously sustained an injury to her eye which was left to become infected. Her eye was attempted to be treated but sadly the infection was to severe and her eye needed to be removed. Dogs adapt remarkably well and Lilly rules the roost in her 6 dog household. She has 4 other Spaniels and a Labrador that she keeps in check :). As you can see, Lilly has well and truly landed on her paws and has a life every dog deserves.

These photographs are exactly the ones I send to my clients. I like to keep them updated and in the loop at all stages. That can involve various photographs a day. I know its something I’d like to see if I were to commission something of this nature. I can also video your portrait and create a full time lapse so you can see how the portrait develops.

More progress photographs to follow 😀
