I love learning a new medium and pastels are fast becoming something I wouldn’t want to work without. They blend so easily creating a really soft look perfect for fur. There is the huge advantage with pastels that you can layer light colours over dark. Something that you can’t really do with colour pencils. So using pastels and how I layer is similar to how I use acrylic paints.

This original pastel drawing is up for sale. This original artwork is drawn on Pastlemat archival, heavy weight artist paper. The pastels used for this piece are all lightfast and made to last. I have a few other pieces planned which I hope to start once I have finished my current Orangutan painting! As well as pet portrait commissions I do also accept wildlife commissions.
