Here is the finished portrait of Roxy and Bella :).
My first pastel pet portrait is of Roxy & Bella. What I LOVE about pastels is the lovely range of colours the papers come in and then the ability to add lovely soft backgrounds. For this piece I didn’t add any background and just faded their chests into the paper.
This was a surprise thank you gift for my nana. She helped out so much with my wedding in September and we wanted to give her something special she could keep. Roxy is my nans current dog. She is a rescued Staffordshire Bull Terrier which we were only meant to foster. That was almost 5 years ago and she never left! Failed foster list… The dog next to Roxy is my nans previous furbaby, Bella. Bella crossed over rainbow bridge a few years ago but she was everything to my nan. At the good age of 16.5 years old she lived a long and happy life – bossing the other dogs about! Roxy knew her place and never messed with the 2kg Toy Yorkshire Terrier haha!

The full time lapse video of this drawing has been uploaded to my YouTube channel!
I have now added pastel portraits to my pet portrait list. So if you would like to commission a pastel drawing of your furbaby please don’t hesitate to contact me 🙂
