I have wanted to attempt a landscape painting or drawing for some time. Since my first trip to Scotland really. The scenery there really inspired me to want to capture surroundings like that. Just stunning.
I took this photo of my own Sprocker, Lexie, during one of these holidays to Scotland and thought it may be a good in between piece to have a go at. More of a scenic background but still with an animal featured where my passion is.
I posted this photo over at my Facebook group asking whether I should attempt this is pastels or acrylic paints. The decider was pastels. I am pleased that this was the medium suggested because I have done scenic background a couple of times in acrylics and with my airbrush so I wouldn’t necessarily be challenging myself. Pastels is a relatively new medium for me so I haven’t attempted a background like this with them. This would be a good way of improving my skills and have fun learning new techniques with a medium I am still learning and having fun with!
