Chico is my 4 year old Cob that came from the Blue Cross. We are hoping that its 1 more home visit before we can officially adopt him. He has been with us for a year now and the difference in him is remarkable.
There have been a few teething issues in terms of some behavioural things. Nothing dangerous but just him being a baby. So he used to trot everywhere! Never wanted to walk at all. He hated shadows, traffic made him nervous and he would trot more.. But we worked very hard every day and he is now absolutely spot on. For a baby he really is incredible and now we have an issue where he is so laid back that he walks soooo slow haha. We are now long lining him and he has taken to it like he’s done it all his life. Amazing.

Anyway, he is the hairiest thing you have seen! The top picture is us brushing him twice a day for 3 weeks to get his winter coat out and he was still this hairy. He was sweating just standing in the field so we knew it was time he had to be clipped. I have never clipped a horse before and only had a pair of dog clippers at home. So we bought a generator so we had power and set to work tackling it! To be fair they did a good job. It did take 2 hours and they weren’t powerful enough to clip closer which is what I wanted but it has made a huge difference. I am ordering a far more powerful set so we shall do it again when they arrive.
I am pretty impressed with how much difference it has made and he certainly is much more comfortable :).
