Alfie work in progress..

I have been working on a sweet Westie called Alfie. I have the pleasure of capturing him twice! Once for this A4 graphite drawing and then a 10″ x 12″ acrylic on canvas.

I like to keep my clients up to date with regular photo updates. If it was me I would love to see it come together. In some cases they prefer for it to be left as a surprise but majority of the time photo updates are appreciated :).

Gradually building those layers, adding more detail with each layer. Don’t rush is the key and draw what you see. Capture the clumps and clusters of fur that is what makes the portrait more realistic. The very last details will make all the difference but they are kept until right at the end as its the fur that is on the very top.

New video layout.. Coming very soon!
I have been working on a couple of videos which are different to what I normally post to my YouTube channel. I have more and more artists follow me everyday and often get asked for tips, advice and general information asking how I work etc. So I thought I would make some slower videos breaking down each layer process of Alfie’s acrylic painting. Follow me on Facebook and YouTube to make sure you don’t miss these :). They will also be posted here the following day so if you are not on those platforms have no fear they will be shared hear… Rhymed 😉
