Poppy is finished and she was sent along with Louis. Their owner was thrilled with the portraits and it was lovely to hear how much they meant. Sadly, Poppy recently passed away and her family miss her so much. The portrait I hope will bring some comfort and something they can cherish forever.
In the reference photograph in the bottom right corner there was lots of thick blades of grass. I was always intending to include them but when I was working on her chest fur I felt that it would be a shame to hide that thick lovely depth of fur. So artistic license was used and left it out. I did send the photo of the portrait to the client giving the option to add the grass but they agreed it was best to leave it out.
