I am really sorry for not posting the past what was probably a week! I was away for a long weekend break and before going I had scheduled all of my social media posts. For some reason, I couldn’t get into my website before I left! So I wasn’t able to schedule my blog posts. I shall make up for it and get back to posting here everyday 🙂
So first up is my Giraffe! He is finished and SOLD 😀

This guy was a real pleasure to paint. I cannot wait to start the next. I tried a new surface for this and used an Ampersand panel. And WOW! I LOVE them. I have gone and bought a ton more. Super smooth for all that fine detail and it works so well with my airbrush which is how I did the background.
The full time lapse video will be uploaded tomorrow 😀

I made the artwork unique and I always try and make my art different and never copy photos exact. For this piece I really did change the colour, the hue and that was to ensure he fitted in with the background I wanted. I knew the background with that glow and my first attempt at a bokeh background. The big change from the reference was the Giraffe had his tongue out and his mouth partly open. I wanted the more serious pose so decided to paint his mouth closed without the tongue. I have planned a new experimental piece… That will be great for a tongue out project!
