I have quite a few commissions that have been surprise gifts. So I haven’t been able to share them.. Yet :D. I can’t wait to reveal whats in this which has now been wrapped ready to go.
Thank you for all the lovely comments on Betty’s post yesterday over at my Facebook page :). Always really appreciated and I’m so grateful. I have a full body cat in graphite on the easel and this I can share updates with you!

Packaging…
I think packaging is really important. I do think there is a balance though. I spend just as much time trying to make the portrait look as pretty and specially wrapped as I can. Equally I spend as much time then packaging this up to ensure that it doesn’t get damaged in transit.
This in the picture is an acrylic painting so extra care must be taken to ensure the canvas is not damaged. The last thing you want is for it to arrive for you to be told there is a massive hole through it! From the day I started offering commissions this part was vital to me. I would not spend all that time on a single portrait for there then to be a chance it will arrive damaged nor for the client to open their portrait as see it isn’t in 100% condition.
This above, when sent with a courier etc will be put between two sheets of MDF. This ensures that nothing break through or bend the painting. All of my paintings are either on pre-stretched canvas or panel. So the panel cannot be bent and the canvases are on 1.5 inch thick wooden bars so cannot be bent either. By fat the more expensive way to post but this is the safest way to ensure they arrived in tip top condition.
