I had the pleasure of painting this lovely Labrador. Charlie is sadly no longer with us and his family miss him dearly. This painting is now in their home and in pride of place. Tomorrows blog post will be the full time lapse video 🙂
For this painting there required a lot of airbrush work. The reference photograph I had for this was beautiful and his body was completely out of focus with all focus on his face. That meant I was able to play lots with my airbrush YAY!
The photograph I was working from he was led on a white floor. So I did a few layouts and felt that the angle was just right to do grass and the green blurred foliage background. I plan to share the photo vs painting to show just how much artist license I used for this piece 🙂
