Using just black and white and 2 paint brushes focusing purely on values and contrast really is one of my favourite ways to work. I especially love the bokeh background effect with how the Tiger is gazing upwards. I think it really adds to the painting – What do you think?
I always try and make my artwork unique. In this case working from a photograph that was in colour and then hyping up the contrast and adding in that bokeh background. I added much more depth to the face to fully keep your focus on this stunning big cat. I was drawn to choosing the reference photograph for this piece because of the pose and expression the photographer captured.
