Love love love the photograph I was asked to use for this portrait. Peaceful and calming to draw, for sure. I have to say.. that blanket took just as long as it took to draw Oliver himself 😂. All that texture and pattern of the blanket took many layers. Pastels worked so well for his portrait. The beautiful colour and vibrancy in his markings was so well suited to pastels and them creating that soft edge around the blanket as it faded out really balances the portrait well.
