I think Pheasants are a really understated bird. To have these on our doorstep with such striking colours which come in a couple of varieties is something we may not appreciate as much as we should. Before Christmas I made a start on this painting and soon after starting it I regretted it… Those feathers. I didn’t think I was going to get to the end! I stuck with it and got there. This is a 16″ round bevelled edge canvas which is just gorgeous! I love working on these and think this Pheasant works really well on this round canvas.
