🐾✏ DOG EYE ✏🐾

I have so many tutorials planned for Patreon. I am always thinking of new content to create from focus studies to full length projects. This dog eye is something I have wanted to upload for a while. I LOVE creating these studies – it really takes the pressure off of full length projects and pet portraits. I love my pet portrait commissions, working on a variety of breeds but it can get a little stressful always working to deadlines. These smaller studies break up that routine and enable you to spend an hour or two at your easel and have something finished by the end of it can often be what’s needed to get back in the zone. 

This was drawn from a photograph of my own dog, Maisey. I chose this for the tutorial because of the sharp contrast between the lights and darks. Those reflections create a striking effect and as soon as I chose the photo I couldn’t wait to get started. 

This will be a full length focus video where you can draw along should you want to. The line art and reference photo will be provided.
