I can now share with you his portrait which has now been gifted to his owners 
. Capturing this fur type is challenging due to the number of subtle colours. Typically, I work from dark to light but this fur colouring requires the opposite approach. I work from light to dark to ensure that I don’t ‘mud up’ the colours and go to dark.

Dexter’s portrait is A3 size so that allowed me that much more space to add finer details and as I had a lovely detailed photo to work from this made for a portrait where I didn’t want to put the pencils down.
