I feel so lucky to be asked to capture peoples much loved pets. It’s something that I feel very grateful for. When I was asked to capture Betty in her portrait I couldn’t wait to start it. The designing process took more time in that I have changed the reference photo considerably.
In the reference Betty is perched over the grooming bath. Her groomer took the adorable photo who has kindly let me use it for the portrait. Betty’s owner wanted the whole body included and I agreed because she has been captured so well it would be a shame not to draw all of her.
So I set to work making a plan and came up with a unique layout for her portrait. I have done the simple scenic background replicating sky and grass and then added a lovely stone wall and removed the metal bath. I will upload the layout and mock up so you can see how I can about creating her portrait :).
