Harper update

Yesterday I spent the day working on Harper's portrait. A stunning fox red Labrador. I had a couple of options for this portrait in terms of what background would work best. I made a start on Harper's portrait yesterday afternoon :). A stunning fox red Labrador. The reference photograph I have been given to use for this drawing has a lovely amount of chest. Charlie in progress..

On the easel at the moment is Charlie. A very handsome Cocker Spaniel who has sat very regal like for his photograph used for this portrait. I really enjoyed using my pastels for this piece. He has such beautiful markings and the colours were just a joy to capture. I did create a few layouts prior to starting his drawing to see what background colour best complime...

The reference photograph I was provided with for this piece had beautiful lighting and made for a lovely portrait. He was a real pleasure to draw.
