Finished Portraits

Photograph tips

I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Stan & Dan. A kind photographer, Jamie at Forever Photogenic, went and took some stunning photographs of them for me to use for the portrait. Having high quality photographs does make such a difference. They do not have to be taken by professionals, most cameras now have excellent cameras and capture the level of detail needed for the portrait...

Charlie close up

Another of the six lovely dogs on the large acrylic painting I completed a little while ago. Sadly, Charlie is no longer with us. After I had drawn all six of these gorgeous dogs in colour pencils their owner wanted a large canvas painting of them all together. She had one place she wanted the piece to go and wanted a very specific size. This is where I feel very lucky to have a framer who ma...

Freddie close up..

Working in pastels is fast becoming a favourite medium of mine. I love how they work, layer and the results you can capture. It is still a relatively new medium for me but the option of the various backgrounds definitely gives this medium an edge. I have ordered new camera equipment which I hope will make taking photos easier and more effective. Certain pieces are nightmare to photograph. ...

Alfie’s final video is up!

Click the thumbnail below to watch the last of this three video series :). I have enjoyed making these videos and trying to help as much as I can. I do have a lot of other artists follow me on social media and often get questions on what supplies I am using, techniques and how I approach certain elements. So I hope this video is useful. I would appreciate a thumbs up on the video and any comme...

Meet Harry

🐾💕 Harry 💕🐾Harry was 1 of 6 beautiful dogs I had the pleasure of painting on the large 29" x 21" acrylic on canvas I shared with you a little while ago. One thing that stood out in the reference photo I had for this was the expression in his eyes. His fur colour and the curls on his ears and the top of his head were one of the highlights that I will remember when ...

Ivy’s video is up :D

I've said it many times but this was one of my favourite portraits to capture. I got to photograph Ivy and meeting her was a real pleasure. She's a sweetie and I hope I captured her gentle nature. Very kind eyes and the softest curly coat! https://youtu.be/Syw1Oi_SGPk Music by bensound.com My full time videos are sped up a lot. Just to make them shorter and more viewable but if you would ...

Lexie is mounted :)

The portrait I did of my Sprocker Lexie has been double mounted and is ready to be framed. This is mounted to fit a 16" x 20" frame and by the time we get it on the wall will be a nice centre piece in the dining room. The acrylic painting I am working on of Lexie and Maisey is huge and that will need a lot of wall space. Being 21" x 29" it's big! I thoroughly enjoyed working on this backgr...

New Giraffe planned :)

Last year I did a coloured pencil drawing of a Giraffe. It was a reference photo I took myself during a trip to my local zoo. This next Giraffe piece I have planned will be completely different and I think, although not 100% sure, that this will be in acrylics on canvas. Here is the Giraffe I did which sold immediately after sharing it on my social media :).

Orangutan video!

My recent Orangutan painting time lapse video is uploaded to my YouTube channel! There were so many hours of footage so this took a little longer to edit together. There is a section mid way through where I took a photo of the painting on my phone but didn't turn off the camera! Pro haha. This took hours to upload! So I didn't want to go back and try and remove it all for a split second :). ...

Spring has sprung!

I'm sure we have all enjoyed the change in weather and loving this sunshine. Due to the lock down me and my husband have spent so much time in the garden. It's a working progress but over the last 2-3 years we have been gradually getting it to where we want it. With Spring well and truly here and lots of our beautiful wildlife now starting to emerge, starting to rear their young and as with Hedge...
